Meridian was set up in 2011 by people who wanted commodity prices to arrive as clean, documented records rather than a spreadsheet attachment. Fifteen years on we serve 27 instruments from four regions, and the same rule applies: the analyst who covers the market signs the methodology.
We are a data provider, not a broker. We do not execute, custody or advise. What we sell is a stable contract, an auditable timestamp and a written record of how each series is built — including when the methodology changes.

Metals, energy and agriculture run as separate coverage books but share a single instrument model, so a symbol means the same thing on the website, in the API and in a decade-old backfill.
The security officer reports to the board, not to the platform team, and can revoke a key or freeze a release without escalation. Access reviews happen quarterly, not annually.
Every series ships with its sampling window, unit and revision policy. Research notes go out unedited by a marketing function, and each carries the conditions under which the author would abandon the view.
2011
Meridian is founded in London as a three-person commodity research and data desk inside North Holdings Group.
2014
The first internal price feed goes live, replacing a nightly spreadsheet with a normalised instrument model.
2017
Geneva ingest node opens to cover continental gas and European carbon allowances in real time.
2020
Public REST API launched with three endpoints and a free tier; Singapore region added for Asian session coverage.
2023
API v1 contract frozen. Ten years of tick history made queryable; SOC 2 Type II programme started.
2026
Four delivery regions, 41M requests a day, and a usage-based Pro tier. Coverage extended to 27 instruments.

Chief Executive
Twenty-two years building market-data and risk infrastructure, including a decade running reference-data platforms for a European exchange group. Joined Meridian at its founding and has led the company since 2018.

Formerly a senior economist at a Nordic bank and a visiting fellow at a London policy institute. Owns the methodology behind Meridian's commodity balances and writes the weekly API commentary.

Fifteen years across copper and aluminium, including six years in physical concentrate trading in Lusaka and Hamburg. Runs instrument coverage, symbology and the mine-cost model.

Head of Platform Engineering
Built low-latency ingestion for a Scandinavian utility trading floor before joining Meridian. Owns the ingest pipeline, regional edge and the public API contract.
Geneva
Head of Data Operations
Softs and grains specialist with a background in origin logistics. Runs the 24/5 operations rota, data-quality checks and the Singapore delivery region.
Singapore
Chief Security & Compliance Officer
Twenty years in traded-market risk and infrastructure security, including a decade at a clearing house. Chairs the security committee and owns SOC 2 and key management.
